It's National Potato Day

There are so many yummy ways to have potatoes!  I think I want to fancy up a baked potato by rubbing salt on the skin - okay, that's gourmet for my cooking.  What's your favorite way to have potatoes?

I saw a commercial for please and thank you that was the Oliver I want more scene.  Thinking of potatoes has the Food, Glorious Food song in my head now.

It's also Teddy Roosevelt's birthday today.  I may need to watch Night at the Museum.

Happy National Potato Day & National Soft Ice Cream Day

Celebrate the versatile potato.  It can be baked, fried, and served hot or cold.  It goes with almost everything - except it doesn't really go with soft ice cream.  Have baked potatoes or potato salad or potato soup or mashed potatoes.  Try potato pancakes (really leftover mashed potatoes) or sweet potatoes or potato chips.  Play with Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head or play hot potato or do one potato, two potato to make decisions today.  Or just be a couch potato.

Then, after you're potato-ed out, eat some soft ice cream - either soft serve or just left out too long while you played with potatoes.

What's your favorite kind of potato?
