Happy Make a Friend Day & White T-Shirt Day & National Peppermint Patty Day

Make a new friend today or get together with an old friend, renew an acquaintance or watch Friends. Sing "O What a Friend We Have in Jesus."   Whatever you do be friendly.

White T-Shirt Day is also know as White Shirt Day and it's in remembrance of the resolution of an auto workers' strike against General Motors in 1937.  The object is to keep your white shirt clean.  If you don't have a white shirt, you can drive around in a car.  Go to an auto show or go car shopping (that's more fun without sales people if you aren't planning to buy).  Watch a car race or watch the Pixar Cars movie.

I bought a bag of peppermint patties to share at work.  (Maybe I'll make a new friend there too.)  Bread With a Side of Butter's website has an easy recipe for homemade peppermint patties.  I think this may be a new party food and a great present for co-workers next Christmas!  It sounds easy enough for a fun family candy-making activity too.

Jesus thinks friends are very important.  He had many friends, 12 close friends, and one false friend.
John 15:13-15 Greater love has no one than this; to lay down one's life for one's friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my father I have made known to you.
