Happy Leap Day and National Surf and Turf Day

Happy Leap Day.  It only happens every 4 years!  Here's some interesting trivia about it.
People born on Leap Day are called Leaplings or leapers.
It's a leap year if the last 2 digits of the year are divisible by 4.
(Century years are the exception to the rule; they must be divisible by 400 to be a leap year.)
I might watch Quantum Leap or the movie Leap.
Do you remember "Leapin' Lizards," Annie's favorite exclamation?
Take a leap of faith.  Play leap frog (or checkers - that's sort of like leaping).
How will you leap into this celebration today?

Surf and Turf for dinner - steak and lobster, although at my house it's more like fish sticks and hamburgers.

The Bible talks about fish a lot.  You may get scooped up in the net but there's only one Way to stay there.  Make sure you leap in through Jesus Christ.
Matthew 13:47-50 [Jesus said,] "Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.  When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore.  Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away.  This is how it will be at the end of the age.  The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

  1. I can't celebrate adequately by trying to cook surf n turf at home, so a Saturday night out appears to be in order.

  2. So, without Julius Caesar, we would not be able to celebrate Leap Day. The complete story is here ... https://www.history.com/news/why-do-we-have-leap-year .
