Happy National Pistachio Day & Inconvenience Yourself Day

Written Reality has an easy pistachio pudding cake recipe to try out.

Did you know?
Pistachio nuts are good for you.  They contain vitamin B6, protein, and fiber.
Pistachio shells usually split naturally when ripe.
They are know as the happy nut because the split shell looks like a smile.
Pistachio shells can be used as a fire starter.
Shells can be used to line the bottom of pots of houseplants for drainage.
They can be used as mulch for plants that require acid soils.
It can take up to a year for pistachio shells to decompose in mulch unless soil is added.
Place shells from salted pistachios around the base of plants to keep slugs & snails away.
They are mentioned in the Bible.

Genesis 43:11 Then their father Israel said to them, "If it must be, then do this: Put some of the best products of the land in your bags and take them down to the man as a gift - a little balm and a little honey, some spices and myrrh, some pistachio nuts and almonds.

Inconvenience Yourself Day is about putting others first.  Think about how your actions and words impact others.  Be kind.  Do random acts of kindness.  Show appreciation for someone today.

Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
